One of the Perth Royal Show’s most loved family experiences is back – and this year, the Yellow Brick Road is more hands-on, more delicious, and more fun than ever before.
Part treasure hunt, part learning adventure, Yellow Brick Road is a journey through the Showground like no other. Taking families beyond the thrill of the rides, the agriculture and food trail is made up of ten activity stops that reveal the heart of the Perth Royal Show. For just $15, little explorers can collect over $50 worth of goodies, snacks, and keepsakes as they go.
This year brings exciting new additions, including a must-visit to the brand-new Smart Farms to explore the future of farming with a 3D tractor puzzle, Lucy the Sheepdog key ring, branded cutlery set, and even a free child’s pass to Scitech. There are also tasty new treats to collect, like yoghurt from the Milking Station, honey from Farm 2 Food, and beef jerky from Rodeo Drive.
Each stop along the Yellow Brick Road invites kids to roll up their sleeves and get involved – whether it’s planting spinach seeds or discovering how food makes its journey from paddock to plate. Along the way, they’ll play waterwise games, collect stamps in their Yellow Brick Road passports, and uncover something new at every turn. The trail takes up to two hours to complete, after collecting their trail bag from AgVenture Hill. Families are free to follow the path in any order.
From a crisp Bravo apple to WA-made honey, the trail celebrates some of the state’s best local produce. Each $15 ticket includes a branded Yellow Brick Road backpack filled with snacks, activity items, and exclusive Show collectables – like a mini wool bale, fun key ring, and a tractor-themed puzzle. Designed especially for kids aged 5 to 12, but open to all curious minds, it’s a balanced mix of fun, learning, and fuel to keep young adventurers going all day.
After its return from hiatus in 2024, the Yellow Brick Road is here to stay as a cherished part of the Show – and with limited showbags available, families are encouraged to book in advance.
Robyn Sermon, CEO of the Royal Agricultural Society of WA, said: “The Yellow Brick Road brings families back to the true spirit of the Perth Royal Show. It’s about hands-on discovery, celebrating local produce, and helping the next generation understand where their food comes from – all while having a great time.
We’re delighted to see Yellow Brick Road now firmly back where it belongs – as a cherished part of the Show, after a hugely successful return last year. It’s a wonderful way to reconnect city kids with country life and celebrate the role agriculture plays in all our lives.”
A family who attended the Yellow Brick Road in 2024 said: “The Yellow Brick Road was such a fun part of our day at the Show. The kids loved collecting all the goodies and keepsakes – the showbag felt like a proper treasure hunt! It was really family-friendly and such a great way to explore the Show together. We’ll definitely be back this year.”
