Artist’s Statement:
This artwork reimagines the early formation of the South Perth Peninsula, focusing on Mill Point and Millers Pool. Explorers and immigrants often captured the unfamiliar landscape through a European lens. Drawing on historical paintings, maps and photos, I created an interpretation shaped by a contemporary non-Indigenous Western Australian perspective. It reflects how past and present views contrast, inform, and connect with each other.
