Artist’s Statement:
Wilyabrup Melaleuca responds to a familiar section of the Cape to Cape Track in WA’s South West. Through layered, sweeping marks in oil and beeswax, I aim to convey the raw presence of this landscape; wind, scrub, and shifting ocean. A place that feels wild and alive where, for a moment, the weight and noise of global uncertainty and environmental fragility is temporarily silenced.
