Artist’s Statement:
In the height of summer, the dry tick of the bushland and the dense hush of the undergrowth become a quiet theatre of decay and renewal. This painting explores the layered, often overlooked spaces of the bush – places of quiet intelligence where life unfolds in cycles of decomposition, resilience, and return.
Drawn from Perth’s urban thickets, this work reflects how the natural world can mirror inner states. Beneath our feet lie complex, unseen worlds – interconnected systems whose rhythms echo the quiet intelligence of our own bodies.
