Artist’s Statement:
Working from life, with both the human figure and landscapes, as well as from photographs, I have been exploring creating movement through abstraction, with the use of layers. Painting over or removing sections of the work. Balancing the background of abstraction with the foreground and touching on hyper realism. I have stopped imagining the end product of my work and have been focusing on allowing the work to take its own direction, working with a collaboration of chance. Each work is an evolution of what happens the moment I layer paint upon paint.
