Artist’s Statement:
This work maps the journey across my grandfather’s Country -Turner, on Flora Valley Station, highlighting places of significance. At the centre is Soda Spring, an important, continuously flowing spring shown in bright yellow and white ochre, feeding waterways across the land. Redand pink pigments mark the limestone and rocky ground.
The path begins in the bottom right, moving through stone country towards rising hills. Painted from above, this piece holds memory, movement, and Country. I honour my grandfather David Turner and begin my own journey as a cultural custodian through art.
