The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) and Ronald McDonald House Charities WA today hosted an exclusive event at Ronald McDonald House on Park, giving children and families the first chance to preview this year’s Perth Royal Show showbags.
Thanks to the support of Lotterywest, the magic of the Perth Royal Show was shared with families staying at Ronald McDonald House, many of whom have travelled from regional Western Australia to access medical care in Perth. For over 30 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities WA has provided critical accommodation and support services, ensuring families can stay together and close to the treatment their children need.
Alongside the unveiling of some of the more than 300 showbags that will be on offer, including over 80 brand new options, families enjoyed rides, cuddly animals, delicious treats and more, bringing the excitement of the Show right to their doorstep.
Highlights of this year’s showbag line-up:
- Showbags ranging from $5 for the Bertie Beetle Blue Bag, and the Rip Snorter Little Ripper, to $139 for the Morish Nuts Super Deluxe Premium Showbag
- More than 250 showbags are under $50, and of these, around 100 are $20 or under
- Yes – Bertie is back – this time with 6 different bags including the Retro Bag that was introduced last year in honour of his 60th Birthday
- Some of the most popular bags at other Royal Shows across Australia such as Disney’s Stitch and Frozen, and Minecraft
- For the sport lovers, there are new English Premier League showbags, and West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers bags have received a fresh overhaul
- Metallica fans can get their hands on their own showbag ahead of the band’s visit to WA in November
- A new Bluey bag is on offer, as well as a bag dedicated to Bluey’s little sister Bingo
- This year’s Yellow Brick Road showbag looks spectacular and at $15 is already selling fast!
Families staying at Ronald McDonald House were among the first to road-test new and popular bags such as Hello Kitty, Sonic the Hedgehog, Furby, Wednesday and Wicked, sparking plenty of smiles.
Peter King ASM, Chief Executive Officer, Ronald McDonald House Charities WA said, “Ronald McDonald House Charities WA and the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) have a long history of coming together in support of regional and rural West Australian families and their communities.
After such a memorable event in 2024, we are excited to see the Showbag Reveal return to the grounds of Ronald McDonald House on Park.
A huge thank you to RASWA for once again bringing a piece of this year’s Perth Royal Show to the families we serve.”
Robyn Sermon, Chief Executive Officer of RASWA, said the event reflected the special place the Show holds for WA families.
“We are delighted to give the children of Ronald McDonald House the chance to experience the magic of the Show. Due to health reasons, many of these children are away from home and cannot attend the Show – so we are thrilled to bring the Show directly to them. To see the smiles on their faces and the joy of their siblings and parents is one of the most beautiful parts of our Show countdown each year.”
The Perth Royal Show returns to Claremont Showground 27 September to 4 October 2025.
