The Alpaca and Alpaca Fleece Competitions give visitors the chance to see these unique animals and their fibre up close. Breeders from across WA present their alpacas for judging on conformation, temperament, and overall quality.
The Fleece Competition showcases the full spectrum of alpaca fibre, with entries assessed on fineness, length, density, and consistency. Winning fleeces highlight the versatility and softness that make alpaca fibre sought after around the world.
Both competitions provide an insight into the skills of local breeders and the growing role of alpacas in Australia’s agricultural landscape.
