Don’t forget to stop at the Milking Station outside and see our girls milked six times a day. Find out about the important job our WA dairy farmers do producing the milk we love to drink, the cheese and yoghurt we eat and the butter we use in our cooking.
There are 156 dairy farms in WA and last year we produced 327 million litres of milk. The dominant dairy breed in Australia is the Holstein while other important breeds include the Jersey, the Holstein/Jersey cross, Brown Swiss, Ayrshire and local breeds, the Australian Red and the Illawarra. *Source Dairy Australia
