Step inside the Sheep Pavilion and learn more about WA’s sheep industry.
Each year, around 800 sheep are showcased and judged on their meat, wool, and breeding excellence.
From the world-famous Merino to Corriedale, Australian White, Suffolk, Poll Dorset, South Suffolk, Texel, White Suffolk and many more, the Sheep Competition brings together the state’s best breeders and flocks.
What You’ll See:
- Daily judging across a wide variety of breeds, from heritage lines to modern meat breeds.
- Feature youth events including the Future Sheep Breeders Challenge and Young Sheep Producers Challenge, where students test their skills in shearing, wool handling and ewe selection.
- The Junior Sheep Handler Competition, where young competitors show off their stockmanship and ringcraft.
- The spectacular All Breeds Stud Ram & Ewe Sale, a colourful and busy event drawing buyers from across Australia for some of the best sheep genetics in the country.
Cheer on breeders, meet the flocks, and discover why sheep remain at the core of Western Australia’s agricultural success.

The Perth Royal Show Sheep Competition is a premier platform for showcasing stud and commercial sheep, with classes for every major breed alongside junior, interbreed, and sale opportunities.

- Entries close: 5.00pm, Sunday 24 August 2025
- Judging commences: Saturday 27 September 2025
- All Breeds Stud Ram & Ewe Sale: Friday 3 October 2025, 1.00pm
