Each year around 1,000 sheep come to the Show to be judged on their meat wool or breeding. While they’re here they live in the Sheep Shearing and Wool Pavilion.
A wide variety of breeds are represented from the Merino, Corriedale, Dorper and White Dorper to British Breeds including Border Leicester, South Suffolk, Suffolk, Shropshire, Wiltshire Horn and Wilti Poll together with Poll Dorset, Prime SAMM, Texel and White Suffolk.
The All Breeds Stud Ram and Ewe Sale is a colourful and busy event which draws plenty of spectators and buyers. Over many years farmers have brought their best sheep to the Show in the hope of realising a strong price for their animals a sheep with a Royal Show ribbon will often go for a higher price.
Dont forget the shearing demonstrations all week and bring the kids in to ‘Luv a Lamb’ – grab a great photo of them.
