Cattle Competitions

- I WANT TO WATCH THIS COMPETITION
- I AM ENTERING THIS COMPETITION
The Cattle competitions are some of the oldest and most prestigious events at the Perth Royal Show. They showcase the strength of Western Australia’s beef and dairy industries, highlight breed diversity, and reward the hard work of dedicated cattle breeders.
Visitors can see some of the best cattle in the country on parade, with judging for both beef and dairy breeds, junior competitions, and the always-popular Led Steer and Heifer classes. Don’t miss the Grand Parades in the Main Arena, where champion animals from across the Show are presented in spectacular style.
What you’ll see:
- Breed judging across a split Show format (first-half and second-half breeds).
- Led Steer & Heifer classes (milk-tooth only) with champions through to Grand Champion.
- Student Paraders—secondary students competing for sashes and a spot at state finals.
- Carcase competition judged under the MSA system.
- Grand Parades in the Main Arena
