Who let the animals out? Walk among our friendly farm animal folk at the City Farmers Animal Nursery and watch out for Farmer Nigel who will be on hand to answer any questions.

At Creatures Great and Small pigs, chicks and lambs will be waiting for a gentle pat or cuddle while goats will keep donkeys and our champion alpacas company midway through Show. There is pig washing, pedigree and pet rabbits vying for attention and you will discover champion cavies as well as some that race alongside rabbits.

Elite canines compete every day at the Perth Royal Dog Show with the best dog in show and junior handler announced on the final Saturday. The Perth Royal Grooming Show is on Friday and Performance Dogs compete on the final Saturday too.

Judging takes place every day in the Cattle Judging Ring and everyone is welcome to take a stroll through the Cattle Lanes to admire these bovine beauties.

All the spectacle and action happens in the Main Arena where prestigious
competitions are part of a national circuit. The Horses Breed, Horses in
Action and elegant Showjumping competitions tests the skills of riders
and horses. There are 34 breeds judged to award the supreme horse of
the Show. The Horses in Action competition comprises horses and ponies
competing in Show Horse, Show Hunter and Carriage Driving categories.
Horses are judged on conformation, presentation, manners and paces . A
win at the IGA Perth Royal Show opens the door for horses to compete at
the National Championships.

Weird and wonderful, loud and colourful the many varieties of world class pigeons and poultry are found at the Pigeons and Poultry Pavilion where hundreds of our feathered friends will be exhibited in more than 600 classes.

Purr-fect felines can be found in the Cat Pavilion where judging takes place during much of the Show, pets vie for a prize on the final Saturday and there are tips about how best to look after your kitten or cat.

Sheep are judged everyday in the Sheep Shearing and Wool Pavilion. Catch the daily Sheep Story Tellers and Shearing Demonstrations. The Merino sheep are judged on the first Saturday and Sunday of the show, and Corriedale, Dorper and White Dorper sheep are judged on the first Saturday only. These breeds leave the Showground on Monday night. On Wednesday, Shropshire, Suffolk, Southdown, Wilti Poll, South Suffolk, Texels and Prime SAMM breeds are judged. On Thursday, Poll Dorset, White Suffolk, Wiltshire Horn, Border Leicester breeds are judged.

Dairy goats are traditionally hand-raised and like people so make sure you go into their shed and say hello.
