The RAS' contributions to the Western Australian community range in diversity from the coordination of the Agricultural Hall of Fame, to the judging of prime lambs at the Perth Royal Show. Responsibility for the Society's broad-ranging initiatives is largely in the hands of The RAS Section Committees.
The RAS Councillors, working together with community volunteers and The RAS Section Coordinators, head a large number of specialist committees responsible for promoting, developing and managing particular areas of The RAS.
A large proportion of The RAS committees are focused on rural endeavours related to the Perth Royal Show. These Perth Royal Show Section Committees manage Perth Royal Show activities and competitive events, working to promote rural WA at the Show. Operating under the guidance of The RAS Council and management, there are 37 Royal Show Section Committees as follows:
The RAS also has committees for the Agricultural Hall of Fame, Guest Nation, Agricultural Societies Liaison, House (Membership), Project, and Strategic Planning. These committees operate under the guidance of The RAS Council and are critical contributors to the success of the Society.
