The RAS Workshop
After visiting a number of Regional Shows in 2008 and on hearing of a variety of issues and challenges faced by the Agricultural Societies, President Tony Devitt and Councillor in Charge Agricultural Liaison Committee Hugh Harding felt that a workshop would be the ideal opportunity for Societies to voice their concerns and share ideas.
90 representatives from 37 Affiliated Agricultural Societies from around Western Australia and The RAS, and under the guidance of facilitator Joel Levin, identified the barriers and issues Societies faced today in running a local show. Outcomes of the workshop will be available shortly.
The program included presentations by Richard Gregory on liquor licensing and security, Natalie Jenkins on seeking support from sponsors and accessing grants, Joel Levin on succession planning and responding to change.
