The RAS Workshop

After visiting a number of Regional Shows in 2008 and on hearing of a variety of issues and challenges faced by the Agricultural Societies, President Tony Devitt and Councillor in Charge Agricultural Liaison Committee Hugh Harding felt that a workshop would be the ideal opportunity for Societies to voice their concerns and share ideas. Programs

One of the best examples of The RAS's contribution to rural WA is their active commitment to the State's agricultural and breed societies. The RAS performs a number of services for rural WA, including the central liaison function for Western Australian Agricultural Show Societies.

The RAS Regional Agricultural shows Liaison and Assistance Committee manages The RAS affiliation with 54 regional agricultural societies. The committee maintains a database of agricultural show dates and society contact details - providing a central management body for regional agricultural shows and cross-regional activities. It is also through the Regional Liaison and Assistance Committee that The RAS provides financial and logistical assistance to regional agricultural shows, once again helping to showcase rural WA.
