best fleece of the show

Kojonup's Misty Hills Superfine Stud has produced the finest fleece of the IGA Perth Royal Show 2008.

According to judge Ken Walker, the supreme fleece had good tensile strength, a fine micron of 15.8 micron and a heavy greasy weight of 5.2kg.

Fleece of such fine quality will be exported and used for high end clothing production.

There were close to 180 entries in the competition which was down slightly on last year mainly as a result of seasonal conditions.

Misty Hills owners Russell and Heather Meaton who are regular exhibitors at the Perth Royal Show are no strangers to success with one of their wool bales selling at auction for a record price earlier this year.
