The Open Art Exhibition enjoys wide public and critical support and is coordinated by a group who have extensive links within the West Australian art community. In 2009, 162 entries were received across a number of mediums. This year the competition will feature a special exhibition in recognition of WA artist Kathleen O’Conner. There is $7000 in prize money available with $5000 awarded as a first prize, $1500 awarded to the best rural artist and $500 awarded to the winner of the People’s Choice award.
