Cookery
schedule entry form
The art of cooking is timeless and favourites like scones and lamingtons are as popular today as they were 50 years ago. One of the most visited displays at the Perth Royal Show, the cookery competition attracted 1000 entries last year, an increase of 40% from 2008 reflecting a renaissance in home cooking and a burgeoning awareness of the benefits of freshly prepared food. Decorated wedding cakes and storybook gingerbread houses create a visual feast alongside scones, sponges, slices, cakes, biscuits, muffins, pikelets, cream puffs, lamingtons, preserves, jams, an open cake section, amateur fruit wine, pesto, chocolates and chutneys. A junior section encourages young people to develop their skills.
ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 30 July 2010
