At the Police Pavilion be prepared for an arresting sight. Our police force has acquired a world first, technologically advanced Concept Car. The car may look like all the others in the WA Police fleet of vehicles, but that is just a cunning disguise. It is the most advanced police vehicle in the world. So what’s so special about it? For starters, it has four cameras on the roof, ready and able to snap vehicle number plates in a split second. There are also video cameras recording views around the vehicle, enhancing the safety of officers. A Starchase tracking system reduces the need for high speed chases by coordinating other police cars to cordon off and contain the bad guys. Future technology in the car will include face recognition programs and a sniffer-dog like ability to detect dodgy drugs and dangerous substances. May the force be with them!
